Why Starseed returned to small-series production.
There was a time when Starseed was heading towards larger-scale production.
We increased capacity. We became more visible. We spent more time on marketing, social media and everything that comes with trying to grow a brand.
And somewhere along the way, something began to disappear.
The machines were still there. The ideas were still there. But the joy of creating them was slowly being replaced by the machinery of running a larger operation.
For a company built entirely around a passion for flying, that mattered.
So we changed direction.
We returned to small-series production and began building Starseed primarily the way we had always wanted to build it: for ourselves, for the people around us and for a small number of pilots who genuinely want what we create.
We do not need to flood social media. We do not need to produce hundreds of machines. And we do not need growth for growth's sake.
A few machines each year are enough to keep Starseed alive.
More importantly, they allow us to keep the reason for Starseed alive.
Small-series production gives us something scale never could: freedom.
The freedom to spend unreasonable amounts of time on details. To develop ideas that may never become major commercial products. To build machines simply because we believe they should exist.
Not every Starseed project needs to be justified by volume, forecasts or growth.
Sometimes curiosity is enough.
We chose that deliberately.
And it has been very good for us.
