Start with the eight essential inputs for the system recommendation.
About the calculation
Two steps
The advisor works in two steps. First it recommends a Starseed system: airframe, engine and propeller. Then, if you want, it can check a wing against that system. The wing check never changes the system recommendation. Flying character is how you want the wing to feel. It is not a measured loading. Choosing I'm not sure does not skip the questions below. Manufacturer limits and evidence come first. Preference among eligible systems comes last. Where exact data does not exist, we say so.
Weight without wing
The system recommendation uses ready weight without waiting for a wing. Weight without wing is body, extra equipment, fuel and ready weight. That live number is shown even when no wing is entered. Complete take-off weight appears in the wing check when wing mass is known. Pixie is 17.15 kg derived from 15.50 kg plus 1.65 kg harness. Stellar 110 PAN is 18.47 kg and TINK is 19.84 kg, both owner-confirmed. 19.16 kg is a legacy midpoint and is not used. Stellar 140 Atom is 21.74 kg and Moster is 25.54 kg. A preference cannot override a failed limit.
Wing check is separate
If you add a listed wing, or type published numbers for a wing that is not in the list, a separate check reads take-off weight against the manufacturer PPG range first: within, below minimum, or above maximum. Kilograms are the primary reading. Percent is secondary. Starseed guidance sits in its own layer and does not rewrite the published min and max. If the published range is missed, the check looks for the nearest larger or smaller catalog size in the same family and re-evaluates take-off weight with that size's own wing mass. If you chose a more dynamic flying character and the wing sits below the midpoint, it can name a smaller size in the same family when that size stays inside the published range and sits above the midpoint. A calmer choice can name a larger size that stays inside and sits below the midpoint. Climb Assist does not by itself mean a larger wing or a position below midpoint. That check informs you. It does not rewrite the system recommendation.
Mission is not a profile
Climb Assist is a mission, not a wing profile. A classic wing is not required to make that mission true, and a reflex wing is not forbidden when manufacturer evidence supports it. Profile belongs to the wing check, not to the system candidate identity. A more dynamic flying character can raise propulsion demand. A calmer or balanced choice does not.
Static thrust is only one number
Static thrust helps describe a propulsion system, but it does not tell the whole story. The public figures are Starseed measurements shown as kg thrust. They are not the ready weight of the machine. Pixie and Stellar 110 use a Helix 100 cm three-blade propeller, measured at 48 kg thrust. Stellar 140 uses a Helix two-blade propeller. Atom 80 is recommended with 130 cm at 55 kg thrust. Moster 185 Plus is recommended with 125 cm at 75 kg thrust. Moster HELIX 130 remains an optional propeller at 78 kg thrust. Flight Advisor does not rank 125 cm against 130 cm on Moster 185 Plus. All-up weight, propeller diameter, drag and flight speed still matter in the air. The actual wing does not switch Atom 80 to Moster.
Data, not guesswork
Manufacturer data, Starseed measurements, derived estimates and preference are kept separate. If we do not have enough data to make a precise claim, the advisor will show the limitation instead of inventing a number.
Why altitude matters
Altitude changes more than the view. As air density falls, the wing needs higher true airspeed, naturally aspirated engines lose power and the propeller moves less air for the same swept area. Temperature can make the effect substantially stronger. That is why the advisor calculates density altitude rather than looking at take-off elevation alone.
Two sides of the system
Take-off density altitude and operating density altitude are separate physical demand inputs. They share one atmospheric slot so a small height difference cannot count twice. Altitude does not switch Atom 80 to Moster. Inside Stellar 140, engine and propeller follow owner product policy: Atom 80 with HELIX 130 when mass stays in the lower envelope, Moster 185 Plus with HELIX 125 when demand or mass anchors call for it. Moster HELIX 130 remains optional.
